Important Changes to BookAdventure.com
Dear BookAdventure User, Rex Reader and Bailey Bookmark continue to work hard to make changes to the Book Adventure web site that will improve the experience and mirror classroom standards for reading comprehension. As of March 31, 2006, Book Adventure's Quiz-o-Matic will require a quiz score of 90% or better for quizzes taken on books with a reading level of 3-8 to earn points and for the quiz to be recorded. (Books with reading levels K-2 will require a quiz score of 80% or better.) These changes are being implemented to reflect the National Institute for Literacy's instructional comprehension standards. Moving forward on Book Adventure, a child must choose the correct answer for 90% of the questions contained in a single quiz. If the child scores 90% or higher, the quiz is recorded on the child's progress report and the child earns points toward our prize library. If a child scores less than 90%, the quiz is not counted and they have an opportunity to retake the quiz once more. (Again, a passing score for quizzes with a reading level 0-2 is 80%).
